The Luce Elementary School is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as the long term substitute educator for DLS from February through May 2026 . The long term substitute educator for DLS will join a vibrant and supportive team that places a high priority on collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and commitment to the goals of the District and to our students, families and staff. The Luce Elementary School is an inclusive community for all students and staff and serve over 500 Students students in grades K-5. The Luce Elementary School is elevating the educational experience for our students by cultivating a school culture and climate that promotes academic growth and social emotional learning for every student, and ensures high quality teaching and learning through the purposeful design of rigorous and equitable student experiences. JOB SUMMARY Teachers provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can access and make progress toward Massachusetts standards-based curriculum and develop social and emotional skills in order to participate in society while providing a safe and supportive educational environment for all students. The Elementary Digital Learning Specialist’s primary responsibilities are to (1) provide and support instruction of elements of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE) current Digital Learning and Computer Science Standards (DLCS) to students in grades K-5 and (2) to model and support educators on effective integration of digital tools and resources within the curriculum. Digital Learning Specialists work in collaboration with the elementary library aides during a shared special to provide both library and technology/STEM learning activities. When not providing direct instruction, the Digital Learning Specialists will support educators on integrating technology and digital literacy into the classroom.
