About The Position

We are seeking a Long Term Substitute Certified PreK-2 Teacher to work at the Learning Center in West Bridgewater servicing students with and without disabilities. The teacher will be responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, implement specific strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans and/or language learners.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of curriculum and instruction, assessment, and classroom/behavior management.
  • Plans effective lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards utilizing instructional strategies for adapting or modifying general curriculum to meet the various needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and practices that are effective with young diverse learners.
  • Use available technology/instructional media to enhance the students' learning experiences.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, organized classroom, which is conducive to learning and interests of the students and support school wide behavior expectations.
  • Responsible for conducting formative assessments, ongoing summative assessments and progress monitoring aligned with the MA Early Learning Standards and collecting and analyzing student performance data to develop appropriate IEP goals and objectives, determine the extent to which student IEP goals are being met, and to develop progress reports as required.
  • Responsible for acting as a member of the child assessment team which includes conducting assessments/evaluations of student abilities and needs, writing evaluation reports, and serving as a member of IEP meetings
  • Explicitly teach and promote, model, develop and support child development of positive social-emotional skills, early language, communication and behaviors.
  • Responsible for collaborating and consulting with Early Intervention providers, related service providers, educators, school/grade-level teams, district teams and administrators.
  • Responsible for collaborating with families, having ongoing family contact and promoting family involvement.
  • Responsible for serving as liaison for an assigned caseload, chairing annual review team meetings as assigned, writing Individualized Education Programs and progress notes.
  • Maintain integrity of confidential information regarding students.
  • Attend staff, data, professional development and team meetings as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
