About The Position

The position description is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and the requirements of the job change. This is a long term substitute position that is expected to start early February 2026 and last through April 2026. There may be a possible extension. Final salary will be determined based on actual days worked. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Make short and long-range plans for each subject area of instruction Provide for individual differences in the learning needs of students Provide a classroom climate that is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistency Monitor student performance and be adaptable to current curriculum needs Give students prompt and meaningful feedback on their performance Inform parents of student progress in terms of grade-level expectations Interact positively with students, colleagues, parents and community members Provides instruction in Spanish. Participates with other staff to cooperatively plan, develop, and implement a course of instruction designed to achieve required academic learning standards in all curricula areas in a bilingual learning environment. Collaborates in the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a Spanish language and culture program in the elementary school environment. Work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse. Direct student teachers, educational assistants, student tutors and parent volunteers when such personnel are utilized Handle student discipline and attendance problems and assist with the enforcement of all school rules Work collaboratively with co-workers , as part of a professional learning community Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality about students Perform job-related, non-teaching duties Participate in staff development activities Participate in school improvement and parent involvement activities Perform other such duties as assigned by the building administrator

Requirements

• Washington State Teacher Certification with appropriate endorsement.
• Biliterate proficiency in Spanish and English
• Knowledge of subject matter in classroom instruction.
• Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
