About The Position
Sparta High School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Long-Term Substitute Spanish Teacher to cover a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be passionate about language education, confident teaching a range of Spanish levels, and able to work effectively with the world language team to ensure a smooth transition for students.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate or active Substitute Permit required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience teaching high school Spanish strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with AP Spanish Language and Culture curriculum is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable using digital tools for instruction, communication, and record-keeping.

- Utilize technology effectively, including PowerSchool and Schoology to manage assignments, communicate with students, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate regularly with the Spanish department to align instruction, assessments, and pacing.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
- Communicate consistently and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
- Complete all typical teacher responsibilities, including grading, attendance, and supervision duties.
