About The Position

This position is for a Logistics Yard Coordinator at a manufacturing facility, working overnights. The role involves coordinating trailer movements, maintaining trucks and trailers to ensure mechanical performance and safety, managing fuel levels, and conducting inventory checks. It also requires maintaining DOT-compliant records and operating tractor/trailer units safely. Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and 6 months’ experience operating tractor/trailer units.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the movement of trailers to designated locations with Warehouse Management.
  • Maintain Walmart's trucks and trailers by conducting thorough inspections to ensure optimal mechanical performance, safety standards, and emergency equipment readiness.
  • Maintain proper fuel levels and perform regular trailer inventory checks.
  • Ensure quality by maintaining records, logs and forms, including any forms required by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Operate tractor/trailer units by adhering to all safety requirements, including placing trailers in designated locations.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
