About The Position

The Logistics Site Lead manages daily shipping, receiving, yard, and rail operations at the site level. This role coordinates inbound offloads and outbound loading, aligns resources with production and planning priorities, and serves as the primary liaison among operations, logistics providers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who drives safety, service, and cost performance through clear processes, strong vendor relationships, and data-driven decision making.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in supply chain, logistics, business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in logistics, distribution, or site operations with experience leading frontline teams.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS; strong Excel skills and comfort with operational reporting.
  • Familiarity with rail operations, yard management, and carrier coordination.
  • Proven ability to run daily huddles, prioritize competing demands, and resolve conflicts quickly.
  • Strong communication, vendor management, and relationship-building skills across office and field environments.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze service/inventory metrics and implement improvements.
  • Commitment to safety, SOP discipline, and continuous improvement (Lean/5S experience a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring service performance (e.g., on-time, in-full) and coding root causes; driving corrective actions.
  • Leading daily shipping/receiving execution and resolving line conflicts to meet production and customer priorities.
  • Coordinating inbound offloads and outbound loads in ERP system and aligning plans with production and planning teams.
  • Validating carrier arrival and pickup times using site systems (e.g., cameras/logs) and escalating issues as needed.
  • Leading and developing the warehouse and rail loading teams (hiring, coaching, performance management, training, and reinforcing SOP discipline).
  • Overseeing day-to-day execution for warehouse and rail operations (staffing/scheduling, timesheet approvals, task assignments, SOP adherence, and on-shift problem solving to meet plan).
  • Providing a daily rail status and capacity report; partnering with rail providers to optimize throughput.
  • Serving as primary point of contact with carriers and service vendors (e.g., tank wash) to ensure equipment readiness and driver availability.
  • Overseeing yard storage for containers and ISO tanks; maintaining accurate physical inventory and FIFO.
  • Coordinating preparation of temperature-sensitive containers to ensure timely, safe offload.
  • Maintaining inventory accuracy and replenishment via a KANBAN/MRP process, including regular counts and PO placement.
