About The Position

The Logistics Lead position coordinates activities of workers responsible for shipping, receiving and moving product and supplying the production line. The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years with logistics experience in an industrial environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and/ or walk, and/ or use arms and hands to load and unload material for extended period of time. Must be able to safely lift and load 50lbs. The employee must also be able to work outside in a variety of conditions. Candidates must be able to tolerate any climate, must be flexible with shift and hours.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review various records related to material handling, inventory, and other department concerns.
  • Ensure inventory counts are accurate throughout various tracking systems on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that all Logistics equipment and vehicles are operated and maintained in accordance with OSHA, company, and manufacturer’s requirements
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate movement of products and consumables to support production line as well as shipping, receiving, and inventory activities
  • Utilize resources efficiently to accomplish goals while reducing expenditures
  • Report to Logistics Supervisor and Operations Manager regarding opportunities for improvement and other areas of concern
  • Ensure Logistics processes are carried out in accordance with regulatory, internal, and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with other departments to promote seamless operations
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, managers, suppliers, and procurement departments
  • Learn and be able to perform and train others on all tasks required of subordinates
  • Assist Logistics Supervisor with enforcing all company policies and implementing PPE requirements
  • Maintain harmony among workers and demonstrate effective teamwork, leadership skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
