The Logistics Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for out-of-state retail logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate courier services for pharmacy deliveries. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage courier relationships, resolve delivery issues, and support pharmacy operations in alignment with McKesson’s Shared Principles (I2CARE & ILEAD). Shift: This role will require one weekend day per week. Schedule options are as follows: Saturday 7am - 3 pm, Monday-Thursday 9 am - 5 pm Saturday 7 am - 3 pm, Sunday - Wednesday 9 am - 5 pm Sunday - Thursday 9 am - 5 pm

Requirements

  • This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage courier relationships, resolve delivery issues, and support pharmacy operations in alignment with McKesson’s Shared Principles (I2CARE & ILEAD).

Responsibilities

  • Customer & Courier Coordination Serve as the primary contact for customer logistics issues related to out-of-state retail deliveries.
  • Monitor and track courier performance (national and local), ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Resolve courier-related issues, including missed pickups, delays, and delivery discrepancies.
  • Respond to customer and store inquiries regarding delivery status and logistics concerns.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and internal teams to address service requests and operational questions.
  • Courier Relationship Management Oversee relationships with FedEx, UPS, and other courier partners.
  • Notify account managers of program changes or onboarding of new markets.
  • Escalate shipping concerns to McKesson management and customer contacts promptly.
  • Operational Support & Compliance Work independently to creatively solve logistics challenges and develop timely solutions.
  • Support pharmacy operations as needed, including inventory monitoring and supply coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Recommend updates to SOPs and courier MOPs to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Reporting & Documentation Complete monthly invoicing and SLA reports, including on-time delivery metrics.
  • Audit packages prior to courier handoff to ensure accuracy and reduce re-ships.
  • Assist in investigations of lost or missing packages.
  • Coordinate annual delivery of “return to sender” packaging supplies to store locations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Communicate operational concerns with peers and supervisors to support resolution.
  • Provide peer support to alternate customer CF locations as needed.
  • Support other lead areas (e.g., Production, Mail) when coverage is required.
  • Inventory & Supply Monitoring Assist customer in monitoring shipping supply inventory and report shortages.
  • Ensure adequate supply levels to support production and delivery operations.
  • Confidentiality & Principles Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Promote and adhere to McKesson’s Shared Principles (I2CARE & ILEAD).
