About The Position

The Logistics Support Specialist provides comprehensive logistics, facilities, safety, security, and administrative support to NMHM operations. This position supports daily museum functionality, event execution, and facility management across NMHM’s occupied spaces.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in logistics, facility management, and administrative support functions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, property accountability, warehouse operations, and customer service.
  • Experience using Defense Medical Logistics Standard System (DMLSS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Publisher, Teams).
  • Strong written, oral, and customer service communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Logistics Management Supervisor in logistics, facility services, safety, physical security, event planning, and administrative functions.
  • Manages inventory, property accountability, warehouse operations, and excess property.
  • Coordinates indoor and outdoor event setup and teardown, ensuring proper accountability of equipment.
  • Monitors and replenishes supplies for first aid stations, AEDs, fire extinguishers, and general building needs.
  • Conducts routine inspections of eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, panic buttons, and backup generators.
  • Performs daily security surveillance rounds identifying safety, mechanical, or security concerns.
  • Escorts and monitors contractors, vendors, and visitors as required.
  • Opens and closes NMHM buildings as directed.
  • Enters, tracks, and reports logistics and facilities data using Microsoft Office 365 and DMLSS.
  • Assists with facility inspections, maintenance coordination, space utilization planning, and project tracking.
  • Performs market research and prepares acquisition documentation for logistics and facility requirements.
  • Supports facility maintenance projects to ensure minimal impact on collections and visitor experience.
  • Participates in meetings related to space utilization, maintenance, safety, and security.
