About The Position

The Logistics Supervisor oversees daily routing and operational activity for a midsize fleet of 11–14 drivers. This role is responsible for route planning, DOT compliance, driver support, safety initiatives, and maintaining strong customer relationships. You will play a key part in ensuring safe, on-time, and cost-effective freight movement while supporting both drivers and customer partners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or operations supervision preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Financial acumen with ability to understand and monitor budget/P&L performance.
  • Proficiency with computers, routing tools, and operational software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think independently and strategically.

Responsibilities

  • Route and assign daily loads for 11–14 drivers, optimizing efficiency and on-time performance.
  • Monitor freight movement, exceptions, delays, and ETAs; provide updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Ensure all drivers clock out daily and maintain accurate time records.
  • Verify, monitor, and address driver idle time trends.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with drivers to support retention and performance.
  • Oversee driver DOT compliance, including hours of service, logs, inspections, and safety protocols.
  • Lead daily or weekly safety bulletin discussions, training initiatives, and follow-up.
  • Support and promote a proactive safety culture across the fleet.
  • Conduct and oversee yard & equipment inspections; coordinate maintenance and repairs.
  • Call jobsites and customer locations to confirm or arrange delivery windows.
  • Communicate route updates, delays, and service changes professionally and promptly.
  • Process and review return paperwork for pickups resulting from damage, incorrect product, or customer refusal.
  • Assist with payroll, operational reporting, and other required documentation.
  • Track performance metrics, trends, and operational KPIs for senior management review.
  • Support budget oversight and basic P&L awareness.
  • Provide limited after-hours driver support (approximately 5%) for critical issues.
