The Distribution and Logistics (D&L) Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of the receipt, shipping and delivery of materials. The D&L Supervisor also manages inventory and maintains communications with carriers, suppliers, warehouses, brokers and others while fulfilling regulatory, regional, corporate, and customer requirements. D&L Supervisor Functional Role Ensures that all customer shipments are handled in a manner that achieves customer satisfaction, while balancing production and safety concerns Develops and executes work processes and operating procedures consistent with company policies Manages the allocation of resources to meet the goals and priorities of SI Group and the site Participates in daily plant production meetings to set schedule priorities Prepares daily inventory/ stock conversions for shipments Prepares and maintain cycle counts for raw material and finished goods, as required Ensures monthly reconciliation of bulk raw material and finished goods tanks Coordination of plant year-end inventory and reconciliation Adheres to leader standard work; drives efficiency through active supervision of D&L technicians Sets clear performance goals aligned with the planning and performance management cycle (PPMC) Manages employee performance, motivate and develops employees Ensures adherence to all Corporate Quality Requirements and ISO9001 Quality Management System Practice Responsible Care 14001 through active participation in the Responsible Care Management System and adhere to the Guiding Principles of Responsible Care Ensure that all shipments meet regulatory requirements Driving a Culture of Continuous Improvement Drives LEAN/Six Sigma, continuous improvement of processes and operations for increased productivity and efficiency (Operational Excellence) Grow a culture of continuous improvement (CI) by consistently embedding CI into meetings, trainings, processes, and systems Ensures Distribution and Logistics work is accomplished through defined, measured, and continuously improved work processes; identifies and leverages D&L best practices Igniting the Impossible Clarifies and constantly reinforces SI’s vision, mission, and values Effectively models leadership through personal exhibition of SI’s Value-Based Behavioral Competencies Accountable and responsible for recruiting, retaining, and developing high quality talent within department Demonstrates strong personal awareness along with ability to influence and lead multiculturally Engages all employees in SI Group’s CI culture Management of union-related activities where applicable Perform any additional duties as assigned by Manager Discharge duties in accordance with SI Group’s Quality policy. Adhere to SI Group’s Integrated Management System, company policies, EHSS requirements, Responsible Care practices and ISO 9000 programs.
