Summary: The Logistics 2nd-Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and transportation operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods through the supply chain. This role provides hands-on leadership to logistics staff and collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain service levels, safety standards, and operational accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations.
  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience in a logistics setting.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, freight documentation, and material handling procedures.
  • Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities related to shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Monitor staffing levels, assign tasks, and manage performance of warehouse associates or drivers.
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and operational protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and logistics KPIs.
  • Collaborate with transportation providers and internal teams to resolve shipping issues or delays.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to support productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reductions.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), TMS, or ERP platforms to manage workflows and reporting.
