About The Position

Amazon is seeking a logistics professional for its Amazon Web Services Team in the Columbus, OH area. Logistics Specialists are responsible for monitoring inventory levels to support build and repair activities in warehouses and data centers. This includes processing inbound and outbound shipments, verifying inventory, conducting cycle counts, managing an Inventory Management System, and owning chain-of-custody processes for Data Center Technicians and Engineers. The role also involves transporting parts between different locations using various motorized vehicles, including sprinter vans, trucks (up to 26' box trucks), forklifts, or electric pallet jacks. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to obtain a Driver Qualification File (DQF) or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and a DOT Med Card. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials, precise record-keeping, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, commitment to Operational Excellence, and adherence to strict safety standards are essential. The selected candidate must be a US citizen and possess an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of logistics experience
  • 1+ years of material forecasting experience
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
  • At least 21 years or older
  • Hold a valid state-appropriate driver’s license
  • Be able to obtain their Driver Qualification File (DQF) and or a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Obtain & maintain a DOT Med Card and be eligible to drive in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
  • US citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year experience driving box trucks up to 26’ in length and operating a forklift (or similar type of powered lifting equipment)
  • Experience using a computerized Inventory Management System (IMS)
  • Strong understanding of shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices

Responsibilities

  • Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers
  • Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles
  • Attend company provided fork lift operator training
  • Complete company provided training in driving box trucks up to 26’ in length
  • Handle sensitive/classified materials
  • Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally work is in an office environment
  • Work overtime as required
  • Lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distances
  • Participate in group lifts of 41 pounds or more
  • Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment
  • Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
  • Push or pull heavy objects into position
  • Work in a noisy environment
  • Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time
