About The Position

CHS has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Logistics Specialist to join our Container Transportation team. This role is central to managing container shipments and supporting logistics operations across our Global Grain and Processing business unit. You’ll collaborate with container and truck operations, trading and merchandising teams, and shipping partners to optimize performance, resolve complex issues, and drive innovation in container logistics. This is a hybrid position based in Inver Grove Heights, MN. The successful candidate will be required to work in-office at least 3 days per week.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Procurement
  • High School diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in Transportation and/or Distribution
  • Knowledge of Ag/Energy business, merchandising, and bulk product handling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) with strong analytical skillset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with logistics tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities required for the transportation of products by container end to end, including coordination of dray and documentation requirements.
  • Serve as the primary conduit of real-time container logistics information across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy in routes at the inland, port and destination pathways
  • Work with production plants and elevators on transportation schedules to ensure timely and accurate execution
  • Support invoice processing for container shipments and supplemental/accessorial charges using systems such as SAP, BSM and container carrier websites.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives within the container team.
  • Interact daily with traders to coordinate and execute sales contracts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate solutions for container shipping issues that arise
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
