About The Position

The Logistics Specialist Journeyman will be responsible for implementing and managing logistics systems to ensure efficient material flow and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Candidates must have an active Secret clearance
Education: Bachelors degree in (preferred) Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related degree. Equivalent experience may be considered (1 academic year at an accredited college or university may substitute for 1 year of experience).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years and up to 10 years in a logistics role within the DOD environment, with a focus on Integrated Logistics Support and System Life Cycle Support.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in logistics management software.

Responsibilities

Implement material flow management systems to meet customer requirements effectively.
Maintain comprehensive metrics, reports, process documentation, training records, customer service logs, and safety records.
Resolve issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, and customer inquiries.
Monitor product import/export processes to ensure adherence to regulatory and legal standards.
Propose and implement improvements to both internal and external logistics systems and processes.
Supervise and mentor logistics specialists, planners, and schedulers to enhance team performance.
Train shipping department personnel on global logistics strategies and their specific roles and responsibilities.
Coordinate all aspects of logistics and reverse logistics functions throughout the product life cycle, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, and final disposal of resources.
