About The Position

The Logistics Specialist Journeyman will be responsible for implementing and managing logistics systems to ensure efficient material flow and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have an active Secret clearance
  • Education: Bachelors degree in (preferred) Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related degree. Equivalent experience may be considered (1 academic year at an accredited college or university may substitute for 1 year of experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years and up to 10 years in a logistics role within the DOD environment, with a focus on Integrated Logistics Support and System Life Cycle Support.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in logistics management software.

Responsibilities

  • Implement material flow management systems to meet customer requirements effectively.
  • Maintain comprehensive metrics, reports, process documentation, training records, customer service logs, and safety records.
  • Resolve issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, and customer inquiries.
  • Monitor product import/export processes to ensure adherence to regulatory and legal standards.
  • Propose and implement improvements to both internal and external logistics systems and processes.
  • Supervise and mentor logistics specialists, planners, and schedulers to enhance team performance.
  • Train shipping department personnel on global logistics strategies and their specific roles and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate all aspects of logistics and reverse logistics functions throughout the product life cycle, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, and final disposal of resources.
