About The Position

The Logistics/Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. This role involves preparing shipments, maintaining inventory records, and collaborating with carriers and internal teams to optimize logistics operations.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in logistics or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics operations or customer service with computer experience.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations, documentation, and carrier requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and communicate in English required.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community in a professional manner.
  • Ability to effectively collect and present information from all teammates whether production or management.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Physical abilities must allow for safe involvement in office, plant and jobsite oversight.
  • Some commercial airline travel will be required.
  • The ability to physically handle this and other travel is a requirement of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
  • Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers and freight forwarders.
  • Verify and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records in the company’s system.
  • Communicate with truck drivers, suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding shipment status.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in resolving shipping discrepancies and damaged goods claims.
  • Monitor shipping costs and suggest cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Assist with weekly and monthly inventory audits.
