Caterpillar is seeking a 3rd Shift Logistics Production Manager in Athens, GA. In this role, you are responsible for supervising and directing the daily activities of logistics workers, assigning their tasks, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance while coordinating between different teams to ensure that the facility’s needs are supported. In addition, you will prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards. Further you will analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements. What you can look forward to in this role: Optimize material flow throughout the facility. Ensure availability of needed equipment & tools to execute logistics processes. Manage the development and implementation of cost-effective material handling plans. Supervise daily activities of staff by coaching, delegating, monitoring progress and providing direction and technical support. Establish supplier packaging requirements that support the business. Design & maintain material flow plans for purchased material from receipt, validation, storage, pick, distribution, and any reverse logistics for waste or returnable packaging. Create & maintain the standard work, value stream maps, PFMEA’s, and SFMEA’s associated with Logistics.
