Inside the Role Supervise hourly employees who sequence and deliver material to Trans/Axle assembly ensuring TOS+ lean concepts are followed and improved. Work involves a thorough understanding of material flow and plant operations. We Take Care of Our Team What You Drive at DTNA Maintains time and production records including employee documentation Consistent logistics KPI-Tracking Prepares shift hand-over/end of shift reports Initiate changes in working conditions and processes to increase efficiency and quality (Kaizen, Truck Operating System, Continuous Improvement, etc.) Inventory management ensuring defined logistics process are followed Investigates parts issues and ensures containment and countermeasures are implemented Order, stock and move material in a manner to meet production requirements while minimizing indirect labor costs working closely with third part logistics partner Responds to customer concerns Development of training programs and employee standard work instructions Completes SWI’s & SWI audits, 5s audits, employee training, LPA and projects as required Develop and follow SLI establishing and maintaining regular reporting concept and cadence with hourly personnel Keep Supplier Management informed of potential problems with part availability Participate in the selection, training, and corrective action of employees within the material unit Carry out basic equipment checks and confirms availability and condition, contacts maintenance if necessary Ensure safe and clean work areas Leadership: Coach and mentor the daily activities of direct reports Support and facilitate a safe and ethical working environment and culture Coach, motivate, and develop team members to higher levels of performance Clarify expectations, regularly communicate, provide ongoing performance feedback, and counsel assigned employees Track and monitor shift, team, and individual employee performance Utilize assigned team leader(s) in Lean Principles to promote and develop a continuous improvement culture Effectively support and follow all policies outlined in the contract, handbook, and/or policy guide Knowledge You Should Bring BS/BA and 5-7 years of relevant experience, or 8 years in lieu of degree, is required Knowledge of or ability to apply Lean/ Continuous improvement tools and principles Logistics or Production floor experience with an understanding of manufacturing processes Prior experience leading teams or projects to achieve elevated levels of performance and engagement in a manufacturing or logistics setting is required Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information, handle sensitive issues, and translate, simplify, and clarify information for employees is required Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management with effective oral and written communication skill. Must be willing and able to complete all required Supervisor training and apply learnings.
