Inside the Role The Logistics Operations Analyst II plays a key role in ensuring efficient, cost effective movement of trucks throughout the supply chain. This role is responsible to oversee inbound and outbound domestic and Canadian used truck shipments in support of our new truck customers, transporters, storage vendor, and dealer & SelecTrucks network. This role is responsible for analyzing logistics data, optimizing operational workflows, supporting transportation and distribution activities, and partnering cross functionally to drive continuous improvement. This role requires close collaboration with the following Daimler Truck Remarketing departments: Acquisitions, Inspections, Controlling, Marketing, and Sales among other departments. The Analyst II works with moderate independence and is expected to lead mid complexity projects, leverage advanced data tools, and provide actionable insights to internal stakeholders. What You Drive at DTNA Operational Analysis & Reporting Analyze transportation, storage, and inventory data to identify trends, root causes, and performance gaps. Build and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and operational reports to support daily, weekly, and monthly logistics performance reviews. Monitor carrier performance, freight spend, service levels, and compliance to contractual expectations. Process all documentation to ensure Daimler Truck Remarketing is reimbursed by transporter for damage. Investigate and resolve both internal and external receiving and shipping issues when they occur. Backup for the UT Operations Analyst I functions. Approval of most breakdown repairs & storage repairs Processing of all vendor Invoices for Inspections, transportation, repairs, & storage. Reporting all costs associated with repairs, breakdown and storage. Process Improvement Recommend and implement improvements to logistics workflows, transportation routing, warehouse processes, and order fulfillment efficiency. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or PDCA. Support network optimization efforts—mode selection and consolidation opportunities. Execution & Issue Resolution Support day‑to‑day logistics operations including shipment monitoring, exception management, and service recovery. Partner with carriers, warehouse teams, procurement, and customer operations to resolve issues and maintain SLA performance. Provide escalation support for complex or recurring service disruptions. Strategic Support Contribute to quarterly business reviews with carriers and logistics partners. Assist with RFPs, bid analyses, contract negotiations, and carrier onboarding. Participate in system upgrades, new technology implementations, or integrations with TMS/WMS platforms. Knowledge You Should Bring Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Data Analytics, or related field and 2–4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, supply chain planning, or similar analytical role, OR 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modeling). Experience with at least one analytics or visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.). Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend practical improvements. Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities. An attached resume is required. Exceptional Candidates Might Have Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Familiarity with EDI, tracking technologies, and carrier portals. Basic SQL or Python skills for data extraction and manipulation. Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
