About The Position

The Logistics Officer is a key team member supporting Thomas Global Systems’ operations by managing the accurate, timely, and compliant flow of aircraft parts, components, and materials. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining full part traceability, coordinating material movement, and delivering complete, configuration-correct kits to the assembly floor in line with production schedules. The Logistics Officer, reporting to the Procurement Manager supports aerospace production activities by adhering to applicable regulatory and quality standards (including FAA, EASA, and AS9100) and operates within a clean, safe, and well-organized logistics and warehouse environment in accordance with Thomas Global Systems’ approved procedures and quality requirements. This position is a safety-sensitive function and requires drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in aerospace logistics, inventory control, material handling, or supply chain operations.
  • Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 requirements, AS9100 standards, and aerospace traceability and documentation practices.
  • Ability to interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), work orders, engineering drawings, and revision-controlled documentation.
  • Experience using Excel and ERP/MRP systems for inventory transactions, kitting, and material tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a high level of accuracy in a regulated environment.
  • Confirmed NEGATIVE results for drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, repair, assembly, avionics, or component logistics preferred.
  • Supply chain, logistics, or quality-related certifications (e.g., APICS/ASCM) are preferred.
  • Exposure to lean or continuous improvement practices such as 5S or Kanban is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for aircraft parts, components, and materials.
  • Perform inventory transactions, stocking, and cycle counts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage shelf-life, lot-controlled, and serialized materials, ensuring proper labelling, storage, and rotation.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify aircraft parts and materials against purchase orders and airworthiness documentation (e.g., C of C, FAA 8130-3, EASA Form 1).
  • Ensure proper identification, traceability, and segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, and quarantined materials in accordance with FAA, EASA, AS9100, and FAA Part 145 requirements.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming or damaged materials and maintain records to support audit readiness.
  • Build and issue production kits in accordance with Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and work orders.
  • Verify kits are complete, configuration-correct, and released to production on time.
  • Support production teams by replenishing point-of-use inventory and reconciling unused kit materials.
  • Review production schedules to forecast material needs and identify potential shortages.
  • Coordinate material changes and updates in support of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and approved suppliers to track deliveries, expedite materials, and resolve documentation or quality issues.
  • Accurately maintain inventory, shipping, receiving, and traceability records within the inventory management system.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems to process transactions and track material movement.
  • Prepare, package, and coordinate outbound shipments with approved carriers to ensure on-time delivery in compliance with customer, FAA, and export control requirements.
  • Manage receiving, storage, and internal movement of aircraft parts in accordance with handling and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping, receiving, and warehouse environment.
  • Comply with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements and support internal and external audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
