About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Logistics Manager within our Supply Chain function, reporting to the Site Supply Chain Manager. The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading all activities associated with receiving, picking, stockroom, cycle count, and shipping, to meet internal and external customer expectations. The leader monitors and manages hourly and salary resources. This position directs and controls the flow of materials into the plan and will support logistics activities. The position drives continuous improvement in production, quality, and safety while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years' of experience in Supply chain and/ or Operations
  • Minimum two (2) years' of experience managing people
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158
  • Relocation is not offered. Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of Jackson, MS to be considered. Active Duty military are exempt from the requirement

  • Knowledge of Aerospace industry and manufacturing processes
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement and application using EBS, BOS, & CIF
  • Champion implementation of Lean activities to eliminate waste opportunities of key processes
  • Achieve key BOS metrics including TRCR, On-Time Delivery, Forecast Accuracy (cycle count and Physical Inventory), Schedule Adherence of Work Orders
  • Effective management of plant assets through leadership of maintenance and facilities resources
  • Creation of Blue Cards to maintain safety performance measures
  • Train and develop team members as well as providing oversight and coaching to other team members
  • Lead by example – be a positive role model
  • Actively engage and recognize employees
  • Enable success of employees (providing resources and removing barriers)
  • Empower employees – drive decision making down through organization
  • Ensure all procedures and work instructions are written and followed, if not create them
  • Utilizes tools such as pull systems, vendor managed inventory systems
  • Analyzes and evaluates supplier issues and delivery problems and recommends and implements solutions
