About The Position

Gotion, Inc. is establishing a cutting-edge EV battery manufacturing facility in Manteno, IL. The plant focuses on cells, modules, packs, and energy storage systems, creating approximately 2,600 full-time jobs and becoming a key player in the U.S. EV battery supply chain. Position Purpose: Oversee and optimize logistics operations, including inbound/outbound transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management, to ensure efficient and cost-effective flow of materials and finished products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7–10 years of progressive logistics or supply chain management experience, preferably in manufacturing or EV/automotive sectors.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and logistics software.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to be based in Manteno, IL, with occasional travel.
  • EV battery or high-tech manufacturing experience is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone) and customs compliance experience, including bonded material handling and coordination with CBP.
  • familiarity with IRA-related logistics requirements, especially domestic content tracking.
  • Prefer candidates with global shipping experience, particularly U.S.–China freight and customs clearance.
  • Highlight dangerous goods knowledge (UN38.3, hazmat, DOT) due to battery material handling.
  • Add experience with warehouse automation and integration with MES, WMS, ERP, and AGV/AMR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with operational goals.
  • Manage inbound and outbound transportation, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production, and supply chain teams to optimize material flow.
  • Implement and monitor logistics KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, third-party logistics providers, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, transportation, and quality regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop logistics team talent.
