The Logistic Manager will oversee Centralized Dispatch, to include the work of a team of logistics supervisors, leads, coordinators and/or drivers. In this role, customer satisfaction is a priority as it is critical to the success of the business. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating freight and supply logistics, shipping routes, and delivery to maximize efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, responding immediately to customer questions and complaints, and notifying them of any delays in the delivery schedule is essential to this position.

Requirements

High School Diploma equivalent education and experience required.
7-9 years of industry experience / freight handling required.
Strong administrative skills.
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
Knowledge of supply management principles and practices.
Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications)
Excellent teamwork & customer relationships.
Demonstration of leadership (all required):
Mentor new associates
Willingness to train others
Safety committee engagement
Participation in US1 Continuous Improvement Projects

Responsibilities

Operate safely.
Dispatching.
Print manifests.
Pre-call customers.
Load assignments for drivers and delivery helpers.
Schedule transfers.
Communicate with sales team, drivers and customers regarding problems with deliveries.
Monitor metrics and error tracking.
Provide excellent customer service.
Scan documents.
Evaluate and identify methods and procedures to optimize and streamline production processes.
Print and distribute work picks and consolidated work picks.
Coordinate the use of outside trucks, trailers and transportation services, as needed.
Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
Maintain invoice records, post corrections, maintain filing system.
Comply with all company policies and guidelines.
Oversee Centralized Dispatch.
Manage 10 or more associates (direct & indirect reports)
Budgeting responsibilities (may or may not have full P&L accountability)
Hire/fire authority
Goal setting & communication
Provide performance feedback
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.
