In the role of Logistics Coordinator, you will oversee inventory movement of finished goods and raw materials at the Rhino Foods Distribution Center (RFDC) and third-party logistics (3PL) sites. You will manage inventory transfers between Rhino’s warehouses and 3PL locations, handle site-wide freight, and coordinate with carriers and service providers. You will act as a liaison between Distribution and Sales, support customer service priorities, and drive process improvements in logistics. You will stay informed on factors affecting distribution capacity, such as inventory levels, QA testing, shipping requirements, and supply chain fundamentals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years previous experience in logistics or transportation environment preferred.
  • Additional training or certification in Logistics operations, material handling, or food safety preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work as a respectful member within a collaborative team.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in group and individual settings.Ability to anticipate and solve problems, make decisions, support others under pressure and know when to escalate more complex problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to complete basic math skills (e.g., add/subtract) accurately.
  • Ability to utilize email, Microsoft applications, and other internal software for daily communication between facilities, shifts, and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee customer-bound inventory levels between Rhino warehouses and 3PL sites, ensuring availability meets volume, turnover, and quality standards.
  • Manage finished goods inventory transfers to 3PL locations, including scheduling and updating Transfer Orders in ERP systems.
  • Execute order allocations in ERP for customer shipments from 3PL sites.
  • Verify received/shipped inventories and manage inventory audits across the 3PL network and ERP system.
  • Act as the main contact for carriers, brokers, and 3PL locations, handling freight arrangements and issue resolution.
  • Organize freight for transfers and customer shipments, communicate issues, and schedule pickups with 3PL warehouses.
  • Facilitate freight claims with Sales and Distribution, help to negotiate carrier schedules and rates, and support the onboarding of new carriers.
  • Run weekly PO reports for inbound raw materials and arrange freight for Rhino-managed purchase orders.
  • Approve all carrier, broker, and 3PL invoices for Finance.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to 3PL and logistics, collaborating with Sales and Distribution.
  • Update shipping documents and maintain records in shared folders and spreadsheets.
  • Identify and participate in process improvements related to transportation services.
  • Conduct research on transportation and 3PL markets and maintain logistics procedures and policies.
  • Complete and maintain up-to-date certifications and training as required, including safety protocols, chemical handling, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • May perform a variety of tasks which directly contribute to Rhino Foods but may not directly relate to the primary duties and responsibilities of the job.
  • Flexibility is essential in Rhino’s ability to respond to short-term demands and ensure smooth operations during busy times. You may be involved in voluntary overtime or temporary assignments that result in extended shifts, weekends shifts, work completed on a different shift or at another Rhino location based on business needs.
