Logistics Coordinator
About The Position
The Logistics Coordinator will support our team as well as provide vendors, carriers, and internal customers’ insight and resolution to shipping, visibility and costing questions or issues. This position will be responsible for assisting our team with clerical assignments. Depending on the candidates’ abilities, they can grow into an enhanced role ensuring product movement is completed to meet the customers’ expectation in the most cost efficient manner. In addition, the candidate will provide additional support to the Logistics Management Team by completing additional tasks and processes as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or Associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in global logistics transportation for air, ocean and trucking required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Positive attitude, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Nice To Haves
- Computer hardware industry experience preferred but not required.
- National and international communication skills a plus.
Responsibilities
- Tracking and tracing shipments with FedEx and various service providers
- Maintain shipping logs and communicate shipping activities with vendors, customers and internal departments
- Arrange for freight carrier pickups and delivery schedules
- Effectively maintain and coordinate daily outgoing shipments according to customers, industry and company guidelines
- Prepare necessary documentations (air bills, bill of ladings, shipping labels, customs paperwork, etc.) for domestic and international shipments
- Coordinate with Warehouse/Production on shipments and verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and ensuring trucks are equipped as specified to minimize potential claims
- Coordinate and assist with loading the truck properly as necessary to ensure safe transport and delivery of goods
