About The Position

The logistics clerk is a full-time logistical support position tasked with ensuring that the logistical demands for all inbound and outbound products are met. This role involves coordinating shipments, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Additionally, this position supports other administrative tasks within the plant offices, including filing, reporting, and organizing. The position reports to the Office Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of logistics, dispatch, office, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and internet applications.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with people.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch trucking for products produced and transloaded at the plant.
  • Produce the nightly shipping schedule and complete the paperwork required for all shipments.
  • Maintain spreadsheet information daily for railcar movements inbound and outbound to ensure customer and plant requirements are met, identifying problems and expediting/resolving as appropriate.
  • Review and process material requests, purchase orders, and receipts in the purchasing system.
  • Work with bulk tank truck carriers, railroads, and railcar companies serving the plant.
  • Develop an understanding of transportation safety, equipment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Track all data required for analysis to effect cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Manage assigned projects.
  • Assist in filing, reporting, and organizing for all departments in the plant.
  • Continually review systems and processes.
