About The Position

Atlas - is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Logistics Clerk for our Hazelton, PA facility. Great opportunity for a team-oriented, self-starting, ambitious individual - Atlas promotes from within!   Competitive pay with potential bonus opportunity.    SUMMARY:   Transports materials, to include in-process and finished goods.  Moves product from the production line to the warehouse.  Loads and unloads trucks.  Receives incoming materials.  Maintains warehouse organization and inventory.  Completes shipping documents.

Requirements

  • Regular, consistent physical attendance
  • High school diploma or general education diploma; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to forecasting and other practical situations.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to learn to operate forklift and pass licensing examination.
  • Knowledgeable in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PeopleSoft.

Responsibilities

  • Transports product from the production line to the designated warehouse area.
  • Reorganizes the warehouse stock as necessary.
  • Completes stock movement paperwork.
  • Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
  • Procures material from the warehouse and loads onto trucks. Insures correct product loaded.
  • Properly labels product and insures proper packaging.
  • Assembles packages to proper piece count.
  • Completes shipping documents.
  • Assists other personnel in manually loading any material that requires efforts other than those that can be achieved with a forklift.
  • Instructs truck drivers in correct load protection, such as tarps, dunnage, straps, edge protectors, etc.
  • Hoists dunnage and tarps onto trucks as needed.
  • Cleans the tarping / outside finishing areas.
  • Inspects lift truck each day for needed maintenance.
  • Fills and changes gas bottles.
  • Keeps track of warehouse inventory via the warehouse organizational board.
  • Assists other personnel by moving materials with a forklift.
  • Reworks damaged product or piece rework bundles.
  • Assists dry end personnel when needed or when forklift duties are complete.
  • Assembles/manufactures dunnage, edge protectors and other packaging materials.
  • Insures that product is stored, handled, and moved damage free.
  • Notifies supervisor of any product/quality problems seen when handling product.
  • Participates in plant programs, such as safety, training, housekeeping, recycling, etc.
  • Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.
  • Run paperwork through for current day’s shipments
  • Input previous day material from Stock Movement Form – Warehouse
  • Enter previous day product information produced from Stockers Movement Form - Stockers
  • Enter previous day material fabricated from off line production sheet
  • Deplete material being shipped from Staged Loads Sheet from Traffic Manager daily
  • Load trucks
  • Check loads and verify all correct material has been loaded on trucks
  • Pull placards for loads being shipped daily
  • Hang placards for loads being shipped
  • Fill out bay location on Loaders Movement Form for next scheduled day, make sure loaders follow FIFO.
  • Consolidate bay locations based on the next day production schedule
  • Performs general housekeeping
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Communication: Ability to provide relevant and timely information in a clear manner to managers, co-workers, and truck drivers.
  • Follow Through: Fulfill the requirements of the position as described. Ability to follow-through on completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner. Anticipates what needs to be done and proceeds without direction in a timely manner.

  • Mathematical Skills: Simple-add, subtract, multiply, divide simple numbers.
  • Reading Skills: Ability to read and comprehend and interpret instructions and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Tools: Must be able to accurately read and use a tape measure.
  • Specialized Skills: Must be able to pass forklift operators test and safely operate a forklift. Ability to perform mechanical check of forklift each shift and refuel within safety guidelines.
