About The Position

SSI needs to add an experienced Logistician to support our current list of services provided for the U.S. Navy. This position is established in support of the Direct and Time Sensitive Strike Program Office, PMA-242, and your duties will include ILS support for the AARGM-ER Program. PMA-242 is responsible for the acquisition, development, and sustainment of direct and time sensitive strike weapons. Your key duties will be to: Assist the Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (APML) and Product Support Manager (PSM) with logistics support tasks including development, procurement, and life cycle sustainment. Perform technical research assignments, manages equipment, drafts technical reports, and responds to other miscellaneous requests. Utilize extended technical training and experience in one or more technical fields which have resulted in a complete grasp of specialized and complex subject matter in which the incumbent is considered a technical resource within the work group. Guidelines may be nonexistent, and the specialist may be required to develop new methodology and procedures which extend existing knowledge and result in methods and procedures for others to follow. Execute require critical and independent judgment in making compromises to satisfy requirements and to anticipate and assess the impact of events in one area on other processes and programs. Develop new approaches or methodology, which may be controversial and, at this level, may be called upon to support these ideas and proposals. Provide authoritative advice, which is accepted as accurate by management and is used as the basis for managerial decision making. Provide training and/or mentoring to other personnel. Specific duties will include: Product Support Management: Draft logistics documentation to include Life Cycle Sustainment Plan, Logistics Product Data, Logistics Requirements Funding Summary (LRFS), and Item Unique Identification (IUID) Plan. Assist the APML in identifying contract requirements and tracking of contract actions. Assist the APML in drafting contract documentation to include Statements of Work (SOW), Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans (QASP), Management & Oversight Process for the Acquisition of Services (MOPAS), and Justification & Approvals (J&A). Assist the DAPML in planning and coordination of Independent Logistics Assessments (ILA), Milestone Gate Reviews, Schedule, etc. Design Interface: Responsible for coordinating Aircraft Weapons Integration on the F/A-18E/F, EA-18G, and F-35 platforms, to include A/C Interface cable development and Supply Support: Responsible for asset management & tracking of missile variants. Assist in General Equipment (GE) / Operating Materials & Supplies (OM&S) management and tracking, to include total asset visibility. Packaging, Handling, Storage, & Transportation (PHS&T): Coordinate Built-In-Test (BIT) development, qualification, and production planning. Support Coordination and management of CMBRE/STORM integration (to include MAP development).

Requirements

  • Education: BS or BA degree Acquisition, Logistics Management, Business, or Management; or Designation as a Certified Professional Logistics (CPL).
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional two (2) years of experience working in direct support of Defense life-cycle logistics can be substituted for a BS or BA degree.
  • At least six (6) years of experience in defense life cycle (acquisition) logistics.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years of aviation ordnance experience on F/A-18 and/or F-35 platforms.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of specific experience in technical analysis of logistics acquisition requirements analysis as well as experience demonstrating ability to independently perform ILS studies, analysis, and evaluations in support of DoD weapons systems or equipment, both air vehicle and avionics.
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Life Cycle Logistician (LCL) Certification / Eligibility.
  • Experience in logistics acquisition documentation (LCSP, ILSP, BCA, NTSP).
