The role of the Logistics Administrator is to perform all duties associated with shipping finished goods to Nucor Rebar Fabrication customers. Duties will include, but are not limited to:• Ensuring all Department of Transportation regulations are met by Nucor Rebar Fabrication drivers and contracted carriers• Maintaining strong relationships with carrier partners • Procuring contract carriers for shipments• Scheduling deliveries with customers and carriers• Negotiating freight rates with carriers• Creating bills of lading in NRF systems and ensuring proper documentation are delivered to carriers• Maintaining communication through delivery• Approving and processing freight invoices• Serving as administrative support in fleet maintenance• Serving as backup to the division Scheduler• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or local equivalent
  • Willingness to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends, holidays, and hours outside of normal business hours, as business needs dictate
  • At least one year experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
