Job Summary Battelle’s National Security Logistics and Operations Division is seeking a Logistician V for full-time work in Albany, Georgia supporting Marine Corps Logistics Command. The personnel will support life-cycle management and logistics sustainment efforts for Class II and other military equipment for our government client. The successful candidate will support total life-cycle management initiatives within the client operations with a focus on direct support to the project and client leadership teams. The position will include gaining an understanding of the workflows, procedures and priorities specific to the government operations and then implementing plans of actions to execute support. This will involve consulting on and/or leading large, technically complex projects and providing multi-disciplined logistics management expertise, balancing competing priorities across a dynamic stakeholder environment. Candidate will identify and implement continuous improvement activities, assist in prioritizing strategic initiatives, and assist the project and client leadership teams on briefings, project tracking, and internal and external presentation development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or 10 years military supply or logistics experience.

  • Knowledgeable/Experience with Marine Corps Supply processes and procedures
  • Knowledgeable/Experience in leading large military logistics and life-cycle management initiatives
  • Knowledge/Experience with Defense Information Systems
  • Knowledge/Experience with warehouse operations and government logistics
  • Knowledge/Experience with Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and maintain effective working relationships with senior government staff.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a logistics subject matter expert to management and the client, assuring that critical actions are integrated and properly executed within the project/program.
  • Develop, analyze, coordinate, and implement strategies, policies, business practices, management frameworks, and action plans that optimize performance of logistics and life-cycle sustainment business processes in support of the client and program objectives.
  • Prepare reports and conduct technical presentations and briefings with the client to communicate results and recommendations.
  • Review and analyze results of performance data and generate recommendations to optimize logistics business processes and procedures.
  • Assist the client in planning for new logistics initiatives, to include developing short- and long-term requirements, milestones, metrics and hand-off strategies.
  • Identify and create dynamic reporting tools for government special projects initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to management and clients on emerging and future best business practice, innovations, and applications which will improve client offerings while reducing operational and sustainment costs.
