About The Position

What you’ll be doing: Conduct locomotive mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure safe and efficient operations Inspect, maintain, and repair diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical components, and running gear Perform periodic inspections and interpret oil sample results Weld and use cutting torches to repair or modify locomotive equipment Conduct daily inspections and servicing of locomotives Maintain compliance with all railroad safety and regulatory requirements Support transportation maintenance and operations as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing EMD locomotives preferred
• Rail industry experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and troubleshooting AC/DC circuits
• Familiarity with EMD 90 and 190 manuals
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and respond to on-call mechanical or electrical emergencies (24/7 availability)
• Commitment to working safely, utilizing PPE, and following all company safety practices
