Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing EMD locomotives preferred
  • Rail industry experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and troubleshooting AC/DC circuits
  • Familiarity with EMD 90 and 190 manuals
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions and respond to on-call mechanical or electrical emergencies (24/7 availability)
  • Commitment to working safely, utilizing PPE, and following all company safety practices

Responsibilities

  • Conduct locomotive mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical components, and running gear
  • Perform periodic inspections and interpret oil sample results
  • Weld and use cutting torches to repair or modify locomotive equipment
  • Conduct daily inspections and servicing of locomotives
  • Maintain compliance with all railroad safety and regulatory requirements
  • Support transportation maintenance and operations as needed
