Your future starts here.   PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: An Electrician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining diesel locomotive electrical systems in a fast paced, safety oriented environment in compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined and excels at complex troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Journeyman Electrician is preferred, will consider those with diesel electrical experience or electrical experience and training with other types of machinery/truck or automotive
  • Ability to follow electrical schematics is a definite asset
  • Available to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays in all weather conditions
  • Ability to pass the required written examinations, read and understand safety instructions, rules, regulations and other written or printed material in English
  • Dedication to safety and ability to complete work within guidelines/rules

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician is preferred, will consider those with diesel electrical experience or electrical experience and training with other types of machinery/truck or automotive

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, inspect, test and repair all systems on diesel locomotives
  • Electrical modifications and upgrades to locomotive systems
  • Diagnostic trouble shooting with onboard computer systems/laptops
  • Complete work in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings and service manuals
  • Other duties as required as per collective agreement
