About The Position

The Locksmith for Missouri Western State University provides safe and working doors, closers, handicap openers, gates, and electronic access throughout the campus, and issues and retrieves keys for all key carrying employees and students. Requirements

This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have one to three years of experience working in a locksmith role.
A valid driver's license is required.
Knowledge of key cutting and lock pinning procedures for several brands.
Good knowledge of general locksmith practices and procedures.
Ability to use basic computer programs and software.
Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
Good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Ensure all campus doors, closers, handicap openers, handles, and locks are in good working order.
Ensure that locks to secure campus buildings when they are closed are maintained and in good working order.
Issue and retrieve all employee and student keys, processing the related paperwork and inputting data as necessary for maintaining inventory.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
