About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Ensure the hotel is clean throughout the day Responsible for being knowledgeable about the hotel services and amenities. Some responsibilities include but not limited to, sweeping and washing floors, vacuum carpet, wash walls, dust furniture and fixtures and clean ashtrays. The guest restrooms are consistently cleaned and refreshed, along with the associate restrooms. Ensure the cleanliness in the heart of the house by removing trash, vacuuming and cleaning as necessary. Ensure guest satisfaction by assisting with guest requests as necessary. You are also expected to complete any task assigned and your duties as an employee are not limited to this job summary. Physical abilities: Standing/Walking: Constantly. For varying lengths of time, often for periods of up to 8 hours. Crouching (Bend at knees): Frequently. Performing cleaning duties. Stooping (Bend at waist): Frequently. Performing cleaning duties. Reaching (overhead/extension): Frequently. To dust all artifacts. Fingering/feeling: Frequently. Move fingers, arms and hands quickly and easily to perform duties. Pushing/Pulling: Frequently. Pushing 100 lbs. maximum. Lifting/Carrying: Frequently. Lifting 30 lbs. maximum. Working Environment: All interior areas of the hotel. Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions. Exposure to hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment.

Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred, but not necessary.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Multi task-oriented.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Practical and organized in a small work area.
  • Ability to overcome unexpected obstacles through resourceful means.
  • Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
  • Excels in a fast-paced work environments
  • Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and management.
  • Ability to take direction from hotel and housekeeping management.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, follow-through courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby, hallways, public restrooms, and public areas of the hotel.
  • Deep cleaning of assigned areas of the hotel including shampooing of rooms and public areas, window washing, hotel light fixtures, and guest elevators (including elevator tracks).
  • Clean and maintain the back of the house areas, including the employee break room, the employee bathrooms, and the service elevator (including elevator tracks).
  • Deliver housekeeping items to guests upon request by a supervisor or manager..
  • Get special assignments/projects at the beginning of each shift.
  • Check and replenish your supplies and cleaning tools.
  • Quickly respond to guest requests in a timely matter.
  • Return lost items found in guest rooms, hallways, or back of the house to a supervisor or manager properly labeled with where it was found and the date.
  • Ensure that the front desk check in area is clean and appearance meets cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure guest corridors are free of debris, room service trays, or any safety hazard you respond to a guest call.
  • Respond to guest requests and questions and report guest issues and complaints to a supervisor or manager to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to requests from other departments such as vacuum requests in meeting rooms.
  • Ensure trash and recycled paper is picked up each shift from all the staff office in the hotel.
  • Report maintenance & safety issues to the front desk/manager on duty.
  • Empties and checks trash containers located on the front drive and terrace.
  • Ensure ashtrays are free of cigarettes/cigars with clean rocks.
  • Ensure terrace area is clean and free of debris and trash.
  • Ensure courtyard area is clean and free of debris and trash.
  • Ensure the front drive is clean and free of debris and trash.
  • Ensure the hotel smells fresh.
  • Assist Food & Beverage staff with returning disposing abandoned glasses and bottles appropriately.
  • Assist front office staff with lighting candles on the candle wall and walkway to the orange wall.
  • Cleans, maintains and ensures that entire front lobby is clean and presentable for the guest.
  • Cleans and maintains public restrooms and employee restrooms and stocks all necessary items.
  • Reports any maintenance or safety issues immediately to a supervisor or manager.
