You’re detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in mortgage lending support. At C&N, we’re seeking a Loan Specialist Assistant II to support our Mortgage Loan Originators by managing loan documentation, processing applications, and assisting throughout the loan lifecycle. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering an exceptional borrowing experience by ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and timely follow-up for our clients. Requirements

  • Education & Experience – You will need some college or technical school courses in a related field AND 4-6 years of previous related experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required Certifications: NMLS (within 1 year of employment)
  • Skills – You will demonstrate well-developed abilities and/or proven record of success in the following areas: Active listening and clear communication High attention to detail and organization Technical proficiency and basic math skills Understanding of Uniform Residential Loan Applications Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Loan Processing & Documentation: Input and manage loan applications using Encompass and LaserPro, maintain eFolders, gather pre-qualification information, and process incomplete files until all documentation is received.
  • Pre-Qualification & Credit Review: Assist with gathering borrower information, accessing credit reports, analyzing debt-to-income ratios, and preparing pre-qualification letters to support timely client decisions.
  • Closing Support: Coordinate and schedule loan closings, work with closing agents, Realtors, and insurance companies, and attend closings when needed in the absence of the Mortgage Loan Originator.
  • Loan Maintenance: Perform file maintenance on open loans, prepare disbursement paperwork, process transfers and payoffs, monitor active loans, and post payments promptly.
  • Customer & Team Support: Provide responsive service to clients and lenders, support document access, and ensure smooth communication throughout the loan process.
