About The Position

This position reports to The Loan Center Manager and Assistant Loan Center Manager. The Loan Servicing Specialist role is ideal for an individual passionate about member education and assistance. The primary responsibility involves recording the Credit Union's lien interest on consumer collateralized loans through processing state registration, tax, and title documents. This role includes managing title management software to ensure the Credit Union's lien is properly reflected on all collateralized loans. Provide support to all lending departments and process loan servicing requests. Requirements

  • Education – High School degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of operation experience, preferably in the financial industry
  • Perficient in loan and collateral servicing
  • Understanding of basic financial calculations
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Professional phone etiquette, appearance and attitude
  • Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations
  • Well organized, attention to detail, time management skills
  • Must be able to work independently and make sound and accurate decisions
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, teamwork, focus and sense of urgency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of collateral titling experience preferred
  • Previous credit union experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer to include but not limited to Title Management Software, Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) Software, and Simple Insurance Software. Manage user access to ensure appropriate permissions.
  • Gain knowledge and experience in loan and collateral servicing, skip a payment, payment discrepancies, titling, collateral protection insurance, and simple insurance.
  • Process loan maintenance including Loan Protection payments, claims, and forced place insurance. Track and manage the establishment of liens with state titling agencies (DMV). Process lien notifications, release of lien interests, and requests for paper titles.
  • Process monthly invoices to include but not limited for Titling Lien system, TX DMV, Collateral Protection Insurance system, and Simple Insurance system. Reconcile the general ledger for simple insurance debits and credits.
  • Research and address any issues related to title work. Resolve or refer collateral and insurance-related questions, problems, and inquiries.
  • Recalculate payments due to CPI refunds and/or premiums. Update receivables as needed. Scan and import daily mail related to proof of insurance. Process daily simple insurance claim payments to member’s loan accounts.
  • Communicate with members, team members, auto dealers, insurance companies, DMV, and other stakeholders to resolve issues. Keep management informed of activities and significant problems.
  • Crosstrain loan personnel. Attend required training and meetings.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the lending team; Loan processing for TLC and Indirect Lending and assisting in the collection department.
  • Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP). Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training.
