The Loan Portfolio Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing a portfolio of consumer loans by ensuring timely payments, minimizing delinquency, and maintaining strong client relationships. This role requires a proactive approach to collections, account analysis, and customer communication. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in loan servicing, collections, and high-volume client interaction. We’re all about that in-person vibe—this role is 100% on-site! Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in loan servicing, collections, or portfolio management
  • Strong understanding of consumer loan lifecycle, delinquency management, and repayment strategies
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed collection and performance goals
  • Experience negotiating payment solutions and handling sensitive financial conversations
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and collections tools (Salesforce, Zendesk, Zoho, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage a large portfolio in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements related to collections and loan servicing is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume portfolio of consumer loans, including delinquent and at-risk accounts
  • Proactively contact borrowers via phone, email, and text to resolve past-due balances
  • Negotiate payment arrangements, loan modifications, and repayment plans to bring accounts current
  • Monitor loan performance and identify early-stage delinquency risks for intervention
  • Schedule payments and maintain accurate records across loan servicing platforms
  • Issue notices of default in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines
  • Analyze borrowers' financial situations to recommend appropriate solutions
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all account activity within CRM systems (Salesforce)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex accounts and provide status updates
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly performance metrics, including collection targets and call volume
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members as needed
  • Deliver empathetic, solution-oriented customer interactions while maintaining firm collection practices
  • Resolve disputes and escalate complaints in alignment with compliance standards
