About The Position

Responsible for overall loan operations management and supervision of the loan operations staff. This includes loan documentation, boarding, servicing, accounting and reporting functions for the bank’s loan portfolio, which includes consumer, commercial and mortgage. Will design and administer system processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing. Responsible for audit of loan operation activity, reviews daily reports for accuracy, and responsible for monthly and/or quarterly reports as required. Communicates with bank management to promote effective and accurate work flow while also establishing positive working relationships. This position is distinguished by its requirement for a high level of technical skill and comprehensive understanding of both department procedures and bank wide Loan Policy and Procedures. Recruit, mentor and support staff to achieve optimum performance for production and efficient workflow, while providing a high level of customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ten+ years of banking experience preferred.
  • Ten+ years knowledge of commercial lending business and operations including understanding of documentary, regulatory, compliance and reporting requirements
  • Ten+ years of general financial institution policies and procedures management with a special attention to policies and procedures as they relate to loan operations.
  • Ten+ years of working in commercial lending services and related topics; with a strong ability to document credit
  • Five+ years of supervisory and leadership experience related to loan operations management.
  • Past experience to demonstrate ability Problem Solving
  • Experience in developing, training, leading, and motivating teams.
  • Good decision making based on sound reasoning.
  • Effective delegation of duties, where appropriate, to be supported by necessary training, coaching, and mentoring to insure assigned employee’s high-quality performance.
  • Thorough knowledge of Laser Pro Loan Software to include GSS (General System Setup) admin oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency with loan software applications (FIS Horizon, Laser Pro, FCM-Document Management)
  • Work with system providers to utilize applications to fullest capacity, streamlining processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Analyze, prepare, train for periodic updates to system software, and verify that enhancements are working correctly. Assist with system parameters and design to meet the needs of multiple departments.  Manage user security access.
  • Direct loan input (system boarding) and verification procedures for all loans. Ensure proper segregation of duties, develop and maintain work flows for all stages of loan input.
  • Supervise the processing of loans in non-accrual, charge-offs or OREO status.
  • Supervise all aspects of the loan operations (portfolio and sold), to include posting of payment, payoffs, escrow accounting, escrow analysis, draw request, balancing, disbursing loan funds.
  • Act as liaison to the Internal Auditor, Compliance Officer for audit and compliance issues as well as support of external and/or internal examination information and report related requests.
  • Adheres to all State and Federal Banking Regulations, receive and research new regulations, policies and procedures and implement them.  Staying current on compliance and regulations by attending seminars and reading available information. Ensure necessary changes or recommendations have been implemented as directed.
  • Participates in the review and recommendations of operational systems and procedures.
  • Proficient in reporting for: Call, SBA and other various reports.
  • Recruit, mentor, plan and assign work activities, employee performance management; addressing complaints and resolving challenges.
  • Successfully interact with operation staff to improve accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Conduct various assessments and audits to ensure department procedures are achieving accurate and desired results.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure the accurate and timely processing of work.
  • Confers with and advises supervisors on challenges within the division, special projects, policies and procedures to be implemented.
  • Frequently communicates and interfaces with Regional Managers and other Senior Bank Officers including the Executive Team.
  • May assist staff with the processing and maintenance of complex loans and the resolution of errors and customer disputes.
  • Attends meetings, seminars and classes to maintain and continue development of banking and loan documentation knowledge and skills.
  • Coordinates and implements departmental and lending staff training covering technical proficiencies and compliance regulations.
  • Collaborates with Legal Counsel as needed.
  • Ensure staff commitment and focus is consistently on the highest standards of internal and external customer service.
  • Liaison between department staff and lending officers to ensure that communication is proactive, effective and that working relationships are positive, collaborative, and productive, and that all legal, regulatory, and Bank requirements are met in a manner compatible with the highest standards of customer service.

  • Salary range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000 per year.  The specific salary offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to applicant's knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the position.
