About The Position

The Loan Modification Officer is responsible for accepting referrals from throughout the bank for all loan modification types, providing superior service to all customers, both internal and external, and ensuring loan modification requests meet program and product specifications. Essential Functions Ensure integrity of loan modification agreements, releases, lock in agreements, etc. Ability to analyze real estate appraisals and/or valuation documentation Identify and resolve problems/issues Remain compliant with all rules and regulations related to residential loan modifications Partner with the retail network, mortgage banking and loan servicing, in all matters relating to loan modifications Advise on loan modification policy by making recommendations as appropriate Monitor modification activity Manage a pipeline of loan modifications Recommend and implement improvements to procedures Build relationships with internal and external customers Maximize technology tools available Minimize departmental non-payroll costs Process residential and equity loan modifications and ensuring compliance with appropriate company and secondary market investor standards including Fannie/Freddie and any applicable mortgage insurance providers and/or investors. adequate controls to ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations Follow the provisions of the Gramm-Bliley Act and Northwest's privacy policy, maintaining a high level of confidentiality Make timely and accurate decisions while thriving in a fast paced environment Liaise with customers, closing agents, attorneys, retail network personnel, lending production and loan servicing personnel. Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency Work as part of a team Work with on-site equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree business/finance degree or related subject matter preferred
  • Nmls Registry Registration and annual renewal; provide unique identifier to customers Upon Hire required
  • 3 - 5 years experience in an area related to finance/real estate, loan review, credit, underwriting, and/or lending preferred
  • Knowledge of all residential loan modification types
  • Knowledge of all residential loan products and programs
  • Knowledge of secondary market guidelines related to loan modifications
  • Knowledge of residential loan pricing
  • Knowledge of construction loan programs and the construction draw process
