As a Loan Assistant, you will directly support loan officers by facilitating a seamless application process for borrowers. This role is essential in ensuring that clients fully understand their loan options and the terms involved, fostering a customer-centric approach. Your key responsibilities will include initiating credit requests, managing the intricacies of loan processing, and ensuring compliance with all closing requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
1 or more years of loan assistant experience.
Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive while performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
Ability to perform the essential functions and physical demands of the job as listed in the Full Job Description attachment.

Responsibilities

Process Loan Applications: Review incoming files for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all required documentation meets bank and regulatory standards.
Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for borrowers, providing status updates and resolving inquiries throughout the lending cycle.
Coordinate Closing Logistics: Liaise with title companies, attorneys, and insurance agents to schedule closings and ensure all conditions are met.
Prepare Loan Documentation: Generate and organize legal loan packages, including notes, mortgages, and disclosure statements.
Portfolio Maintenance: Manage post-closing tasks such as filing UCC statements, monitoring insurance expirations, and tracking financial reporting requirements.
Lien & Collateral Management: Perform lien searches and ensure the proper perfection of collateral to protect the institution's interests.
Data Integrity: Input and maintain loan data within the core banking system to ensure accurate reporting and billing.
Compliance Oversight: Identify and resolve documentation exceptions to maintain audit readiness and adherence to federal lending laws
