About The Position

It is the responsibility of the Loan Assistant Team Lead to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position. As a Loan Assistant Team Lead, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of multiple loan assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company policies and industry regulations. You will be responsible for providing guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative environment, and facilitating professional development through coaching and training. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of loan products and regulations, and a proven ability to drive team performance and deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
5-7 years of banking experience required.
5-7 years as a Loan Assistant or comparable experience.
Required annual compliance training.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree or additional course work in banking, finance or lending is an asset.
Prior leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Providing guidance and support to the team, including daily activities and long-term horizon growth.
Oversees work distribution to ensure all Loan Assistants within the region are working at optimal levels.
Conducts performance reviews and manages performance of Loan Assistants through collaboration with Bankers to ensure Loan Assistants are providing necessary support for optimum efficiency.
Monitors exception report, past due report, insurance tracking, and corporate learning assignments for their assigned market/team, to ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
Role may include the responsibilities of a Loan Assistant with a smaller number of Relationship Managers to support. Based on size of team, could be in a Leadership role only.
Provide back-up support to other Loan Assistants to cover PTO requests, and absences.
Leadership skills are utilized to organize and lead the team through challenging work environments.
Primary source of information for team members as issues arise around loan processing cycle.
You will collaborate with deal teams and other stakeholders to enhance customer service and streamline processes.
This role could involve managing complex loan applications, conducting quality control reviews, and addressing any issues that arise during the loan processing cycle.
If applicable, maintain clear and effective communication with lenders (up to 1-2), and other stakeholders throughout the loan process.
Provide exceptional client service through offering assistance and responding to questions and requests for information.
Notify clients of any issues or discrepancies that may arise and assist in resolving them.
