About The Position

The Loading Dock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the loading dock at a high-end luxury shopping retail center. This role ensures the efficient, secure, and professional handling of all inbound and outbound deliveries while maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and service in line with the premium expectations of our tenants and clientele.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years in loading dock or warehouse operations, preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience, strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with freight handling, inventory control, and dock safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in an indoor/outdoor loading dock environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all activities related to deliveries, returns, and shipping.
  • Enforce scheduling protocols and manage dock appointments to avoid congestion and ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and security procedures, including vehicle checks and access controls.
  • Oversee loading dock employees on shift; ensuring coverage, task delegation, and performance standards.
  • Provide training on proper handling procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor shift productivity and enforce policies for professional conduct and appearance.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for retailers, vendors, and logistics personnel using the loading dock.
  • Ensure delivery processes support the high standards of luxury retail operations.
  • Communicate dock rules and policies clearly and tactfully to external partners.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free dock area at all times.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and report maintenance issues or violations promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and center-specific guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, incidents, and dock schedules.
  • Generate daily or weekly reports for management as required.
  • Participate in audits and emergency response drills.
