The Revenue Strategy team is excited to announce the opening of our Load Research & Forecasting Intern position. In this role, you will work alongside journey and senior level analysts on the Load Research and Forecasting team, supporting analytical efforts that contribute to SMUD's long-term forecasting and clean energy objectives. As an intern, you will work with hourly load data and other datasets to support team research needs. You will use analytical tools (such as Excel, Python, or SAS, as appropriate) to prepare datasets, generate insights, and assist with ongoing analytical projects. You will focus on analytical tasks that feed into the work of our team. These may include summarizing load patterns, preparing data for forecasting scenarios, or supporting research related to distributed energy resources (DERs), customer programs, and innovative rate designs. Your contributions will directly support the development of SMUD's sales and long-term load forecasting scenarios, a key component of the 2030 Zero Carbon Plan. This internship position is onsite, in person 3 days a week. Work is closely related to the employee’s academic major in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
