Level I Hiring Wage Range: $28.70 - $43.08 Level II Hiring Wage Range: $32.26 - $48.41 PURPOSE : Load Management Technician I supports Dairyland Power Cooperative by assisting with the maintenance, testing, and documentation of load management systems. This entry-level role focuses on troubleshooting equipment, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the implementation of load control programs. Working under supervision, the Technician I helps ensure system reliability and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to support the deployment and upkeep of hardware and software. This position also provides basic training and support to distribution cooperative staff, contributing to the overall efficiency of Dairyland’s load management operations. Load Management Technician II - This mid-level role builds on foundational knowledge to take greater ownership of system reliability, including independently resolving issues, updating records, and refining load control programs. The Technician II collaborates with internal teams, external partners, and distribution cooperative staff to support the efficient deployment and operation of load management hardware and software while providing technical guidance and training as needed.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have an associate degree in a field related to electronics, telecommunications, or IoT.
  • Ability to clearly convey ideas and procedural tasks both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electric and electronic circuits
  • Ability to work effectively and safely without direct supervision
  • Familiarity with programming languages
  • Familiarity with network and application protocols
  • Computer literacy
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.
  • A current Federal Communications Commission (FCC) License is preferred.
  • Applicants should have an associate degree in a field related to electronics, telecommunications, or IoT with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in related field.
  • Strong ability to clearly convey technical concepts, ideas, and procedural tasks both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills for electric and electronic circuits, including identifying and resolving moderately complex issues independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and safely with minimal supervision, while taking ownership of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages, with the ability to modify and test basic load management control programs.
  • Increased familiarity with network and application protocols, including the ability to assist in diagnosing connectivity issues.
  • Proficiency in using computers and software tools for record-keeping, testing, and documentation purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Independently test, troubleshoot, and repair load management equipment as part of a maintenance and acceptance verification program.
  • Maintain, analyze, and update detailed records for load management assets (e.g., warranty, repair, and installation records).
  • Conduct and document comprehensive testing of load management system components, including network coverage analysis.
  • Organize and manage inventory of load management system components and repair parts, ensuring availability for operational needs.
  • Assist in developing, coding, and testing load management control programs with minimal supervision.
  • Document and refine load control procedures, ensuring effective implementation with system operators.
  • Provide administrative support, including updates to critical documentation, for load control operations.
  • Maintain and improve load management documents for use by Dairyland Operations staff and distribution cooperative staff.
  • Deliver technical training and guidance to distribution cooperative staff on the installation and configuration of load management hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with Dairyland Telecommunications staff and external partners to maintain and enhance RF and network systems supporting Load Management operations.
  • Manage and update the Mass Notification System, ensuring proper configuration and accurate population of contact records.
