Opportunity Snapshot: Compensation: $40.00/hour Location: Quintana, TX Assignment Duration: 6 months+ Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+ Benefits: Comprehensive insurance with 401(k) program, PTO & Holidays Responsibilities Reviewing requisitions and developing specifications to permit the competitive procurement of non-complex to complex items and services Soliciting written quotations Completing bid tabulations Attending, participating in, and at times leading weekly status meetings Organization, attendance, and participation in Vendor meetings, Kick-Off meetings, Pre-Bid meetings, and pre-bid site visits Researching, seeking, and securing alternative sources of supply Preparation of confidential information Acting as a ‘lead’ for the Procurement Buyer team at Headquarters Development of supplier relationships Negotiating terms and conditions to include expediting and preferred pricing Verification of budgeted funds for specific goods and/or services Maintaining procurement documents in a systematic and auditable fashion Communicating with Client management resources, budget holders, maintenance, operations and other office personnel to determine and support their needs Maintaining the preferred/approved vendors list for Client Development entities through evaluations and good business processes Acts as a back-up for other Procurement professionals as well as Procurement Supervision Accountable for accurate record keeping and transactions Closing out completed POs Facilitating payment through invoice approval and processing Assisting with responses to Audit department inquiries Once monthly in-person meetings at the Terminal location in Freeport, TX with additional travel for training or departmental quarterly events Rotational on-call status with all Procurement Buyers, for 24/7/365 support of the Operations Terminal Qualifications 5+ years procurement-related experience, 8 years preferred 3+ years SAP experience in a Supply Chain environment Knowledge of oil and gas, petrochemical, construction-related products, similar plant/industry experience SAP Material Management Systems experience High school diploma or GED required The Bergaila Way: The Bergaila Companies is a nationally recognized leader in providing staffing services to all sectors of the energy industry.
