About The Position

Crisis Services is now hiring Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors interested in working three (3) 10-hour days/week with full-time benefits as part of our team of Community Outreach crisis intervention professionals. This is an exciting opportunity that provides a competitive hourly rate while helping to protect time outside of work for people fulfilling this critical role. Who we are: Crisis Services is a 24-hour comprehensive crisis center and community resource whose first responders save lives by restoring safety, promoting emotional strength, and reducing the impact of trauma through intervention, education, prevention, and community collaboration. About this opportunity: Mobile Crisis Counselors are part of our Emergency Mental Health Response Services team. These Master’s-level Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors are responsible for providing on-site crisis intervention and assessments to individuals in crisis or emergency mental health situations in the community. The primary goals of this program are client safety, suicide prevention, and hospital diversion.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, and
  • Licensure/permit or permit-eligibility in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
  • One (1) year of supervised experience (pre- or post-graduate) providing services to individuals in a mental health or human service setting.
  • A valid NYS driver’s license and access to a usable vehicle.
