About The Position

Performs a variety of unskilled manual labor to maintain the cleanliness and operation of livestock exhibits and facilities during the annual OC Fair. This document in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience in maintenance and repairs.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment such as forklift, manlift, tractor, and carts, in addition to hand tools in a safe and proper manner necessary.
  • Familiarity with common safety practices associated with livestock required.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills a must.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment necessary.
  • Must be available to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair.
  • Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid California drivers license.
  • Knowledge of livestock show office procedures highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs heavy manual labor and other tasks as needed to maintain the appearance of the livestock area.
  • Operates equipment including forklifts, manlifts, tractors, carts and hand tools.
  • Maintains and repairs various structures and exhibits in the Livestock area
  • Assists with the set-up and dismantling of exhibits, tents, fencing and special events.
  • Assists with the loading, unloading and weigh-in of animals.
  • Works directly with the public to answer questions regarding Livestock exhibits and programs and provide directions to other locations on the fairgrounds.
