This person will assist in overseeing all accounting functions for the livestock operations division and ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes processing all purchases, sales, and expenses, budget preparation, reconciliation of inventories and general ledger accounts, and margin monitoring. Also, this person will provide and prepare various analytical reports as requested by the division or supervisor. All duties should be completed in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or 3 years accounting experience
Accounting background
You desire to thrive in agriculture and seek a key role in the industry.

Nice To Haves

Experience with inventory accounting preferred

Responsibilities

Process sales and purchase transactions and miscellaneous expense invoices.
Must have knowledge of how AP/AR transactions affect the P&L for division.
Monitor margins and adjust weighted average costs when required.
Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close.
Make any necessary adjusting entries.
Maintain current schedule of reserves, prepays and accruals.
Assist warehouse personnel with software issues.
Prepare preliminary budget using historical data and current market intelligence.
