About The Position

Trinity Classical Academy seeks a candidate for a Co-op and/or LIVE teacher in its Libertas Preparatory School. Teachers need a variety of subject areas including but not limited to American Literature & Composition, Anatomy & Physiology (with lab), Bible, Biology (with lab), English, Graphic Design, Health/Nutrition, Personal Finance, Philosophy, Beginning Spanish, Spanish 1 & 2, and US History. Qualified candidates will be models in their lives and abilities of what they teach . They will demonstrate a commitment to improving their craft and stewarding our school’s culture in this environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Two or more years of college required
  • Excellent oral and written command of the English language
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Competence in educational technology (Word processing, online management software, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Teaching shows care for students and subject matter
  • A strong commitment to the emphasis and philosophy of Trinity Classical Academy
  • Service oriented and able to interface with many people
  • Truthful, positive, and purposeful when communicating with others
  • Flexible and adaptable in dealing with new, different or changing requirements
  • Multitasking in an environment with many distractions is a must
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation
  • Must be able to sit for extended period of time, repetitious hand and body movements, simple grasping, fine and gross motor skills.
  • Stand and walk when administering care.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb one flight of stairs
  • Ability to work well under pressure; ability to maintain a level of professionalism and calm when others are behaving inappropriately
  • Use of computer/monitor screen; projector and other classroom equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement lessons using an approved curriculum
  • Effectively teach students using a variety of learning activities including: lectures, class discussions, collaborative in class labs and other learning activities
  • Supervise the class to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment
  • Assess student learning through class participation, homework, quizzes, tests, in class lab experiments, lab reports, and students research projects and presentations
  • Utilize Google Classroom to manage and communicate class assignments and tests, assign grades, and respond to student’s questions regarding the course content to equip them to work on assignments independently outside the class
  • Be prepared to teach class each week by planning lessons ahead of time and organizing supplies and resources for lectures and presentations
